This Tudor Submariner is in overall great vintage condition The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The caseback has some scratches and the "Case by Rolex..." text is clearly visible. The inside caseback is stamped 79190. The numbers are visible between the lugs. The bezel ring has remained sharp and the blue insert is in excellent condition with some scratches and light wear. The dial and hands are in great condition with light patina; the lume has aged to a lovely creamy color. The hour hand has a spot of relume from a previous patch to a hole it appears in the "Mercedes" part. This watch has a 9315 folded Oyster bracelet with 13 links, no. 380BB end links, and divers extension. The bracelet is in excellent condition with light wear. The clasp and divers extension are signed "Tudor." The clasp is stamped "V4" indicating it's from 1996. The crystal has some light wear.

Vintage Tudor Submariner ref 79190 Circa 1997. These Tudor Submariner ref. 79190s were offered with either blue or black dials with matching bezels or with the elusive polished steel bezel. This example is the former with a beautiful striking blue dial and blue bezel. This reference was the last version of the Tudor Submariner before they got rid of the line and would stop using the term "Submariner." This reference is somewhat of a rare bird as we don't see them too often and this example comes complete with its box, punched papers, and serialized hang-tag.

1990s Tudor Submariners offer a great value and have a nice blend of modern and vintage characteristics. Tudor still used acrylic crystals and non-white gold surrounds on the dials into the 1990s. In addition, the depth rating is "meters first" giving a vintage nod to 1960s Rolex Submariners. If you are looking for a Submariner that is a little different and blue, this is something to consider!
