Pre-owned Tudor Heritage Ranger ref 79910 (2015) looks back to the Ranger watches Tudor produced during the late 1960s, translating that simple field-watch design into a larger, more contemporary timepiece. The Heritage Ranger, released back in 2014, measures 41mm in stainless steel, with a mostly satin-brushed finish and a domed sapphire crystal that helps preserve some of the character of its vintage inspiration. The black dial is wonderfully straightforward, with large Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12, an arrow-shaped hour hand, and warm-toned luminescent plots that reinforce the retro aesthetic. This example comes on a leather bund strap, a particularly fitting choice for the Ranger’s rugged, military-inspired personality. Inside is the automatic ETA 2824, used here without a date complication to keep the dial clean and symmetrical. Drilled lugs make strap changes easy, while a screw-down crown and 150 meters of water resistance add plenty of everyday practicality.
