Vintage Watch Condition Examination
This Tudor watch is in great, honest vintage condition. The case is strong with scratches and it is probably unpolished, the bevels are still visible and sharp. The case has some scratches/ wear around the lug holes. The bezel has remained sharp and the bezel insert is in great condition with light wear and scratches. The pip at 12 o'clock has developed patina. The caseback has a personalized engraving. The dial and hands are in great condition with light patina and matching creamy lume color. The dial has a small area of wear/ scratches between 12 and 1 o'clock, this can be hard to notice depending on the lighting/ angle. The hands have developed some patina and show some spots of oxidation. The folded link Oyster bracelet is in great condition with scratches and a bit of stretch between the links.
Vintage Tudor Submariner 79090
These Tudor Submariner ref. 79090s were offered with either blue or black dials with matching bezels. This example is the former with a beautiful dark blue dial and blue bezel. 1990s Tudor Submariners offer a great value and have a nice blend of modern and vintage characteristics. Tudor still used folded link bracelets, acrylic crystals and non-white gold surrounds on the dials into the 1990s. These features give the watch a vintage look and feel. If you want a blue Submariner you don't have too many choices and these Tudor Subs are a great option.
This blue Tudor Submariner was given to the original owner by his company as a five year anniversary gift and has an engraving on the back marking the occasion. Besides being in great condition, this example comes complete with it's box and papers! The owner even saved the hangtag with corresponding case number and the original caseback sticker is stuck to the front of the Tudor booklet. We always get excited when these watches come with the original accessories!
