Vintage Watch Condition Examination:
This watch is in great, honest vintage condition. The case is in good condition with scratches and some wear, it appears to have been polished. The date wheel has developed some patina and wear in spots. The blue bezel has faded throughout giving it a unique and beautiful appearance. In some lights it looks bluish/ lavender. The pip in the bezel is a later replacement. The dial has patina and bubbling throughout. The lume on the dial has developed patina and darkened to a beige color. The hands have developed light patina and the lume has remained fairly white. The hour and minutes hands are lighter in color than the lume on the dial and appear to be service replacements or color corrected at some point.
Description: Vintage Tudor Submariner
Pre-owned Tudor Submariner ref 9411/0 (1973) offered the "Snowflake" style hands on the Submariners since 1969 and this era of Tudor Submariner would be the last to use them until Tudor brought back this design element to some modern models. The 9411/0 came out around 1973 and Tudor offered these in blue or black. Here we have a blue variant with an interesting patina throughout. Earlier examples, like this one, have a known defect in the paint where it would bubble. These all age differently and this one has bubbled evenly giving the dial very cool and attractive "crater" look. The lume on the dial has also aged to a lovely sandy color complimenting the dial nicely. From the bezel to the dial, you won't find another 9411/0 exactly like this one!
