This Tudor Snowflake is in overall great, honest vintage condition. The case is in good condition with scratches nicks and normal signs of wear. The text is still clearly visible on the caseback. The inside caseback is stamped “IV.70.” The numbers are visible between the lugs. The bezel is in great condition and has faded throughout and now presents as a super light greyish-blue with a hint of lavender. The bezel ring has remained sharp. This watch has retained its correct non-triplock crown (no 3 dots) and roulette date wheel. The dark blue is in overall attractive condition, it has developed some textured patina throughout that can be hard to notice. The edge of the dial shows some wear ( 1- 3, 5 - 9 o'clock). The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to an attractive toasted almond color. The hands have developed patina and when looking closely the hour hand shows some cracking to the lume near the base. This watch has a C&I Rolex USA rivet bracelet with 10 links and the clasp is stamped "7-71" indicating its from 1971. The bracelet is in overall good, honest condition with scratches and normal signs of wear with some stretch between the links which is not uncommon.
Pre-owned Tudor Submariner ref 7021 (Circa 1971) offered the "Snowflake" style hands on the Submariners since 1969 with this reference the 7021. The 7021 came out around in 1969 and was the first Tudor Submariner to offer the date function. Tudor offered these in blue or black. Tudor offered these in blue or black. Collectors tend to gravitate towards these blue Snowflakes because the French Navy / Marine Nationale chose this color to issue in the 1970s. The blue dial on this example is super dark and can be hard to tell its blue depending on the lighting, we love how it aged and combined with the perfectly faded bezel and creamy lume - its just a chefs kiss.
