Pre-owned Rolex Daytona 116528 (2001 - 2002). Rolex released a new generation of Daytonas in 2000, complete with the caliber 4130, the brand's first in-house self-winding chronograph movement. Previously, the series was powered by the Zenith El Primero movement modified in-house. Ref. 116528 was the all-gold version of the early 2000s Daytona with the in-house movement. On these models, the Tachymeter scale has very thin numerals and dot markers. Each numeral is perpendicular to the dial. That's important to note because another version of the gold Daytona, ref. 116518, was released at the same time but featured a leather strap instead of a gold Oyster bracelet, and the tachymeter scale used a thicker font and tiny triangular markers instead of dots. Additionally, the numerals on the bezel face the dial on that model. Rolex eventually discontinued the Rolex you see here in favor of the ref. 116508, which kept the same tachymeter bezel as ref. 116518 with fatter font and triangles instead of dots.
