Used Rolex Explorer 14270 - Black Arabic Dial
Many avid pre-owned Rolex collectors seek the Explorer for both its impressive history as well as its simple, understated style. Rolex developed the Explorer line shortly after Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary became the first men to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Upon the wrist of one of those men was a Rolex Oyster. The Explorer was developed to celebrate that momentous feat and offered a tough exterior, a reliable movement, and a highly visible dial. The ref. 14270 is a popular variation of the line. This particular reference came to market in the early 1990s and features a modest 36mm Oyster case, a flat-link Oyster bracelet, and a black dial topped with the iconic luminous baton and Arabic 3, 6, and 9-hour markers as well as Mercedes hands. The time-only dial mirrors the simplicity of the Explorer as a whole, creating a desirable sports watch that is sought-after by many.
