Rolex Submariner 168000 - Stainless Steel
The "Triple Zero" Submariner reference, despite that fact that is was given a 6-digit reference number, is actually a vintage watch. Rolex produced the ref. 168000 for a short time in the 1980's and used it as a transitional model to introduce the Submariner line to 904L stainless steel. Shortly after, the Submariner line would also be given a sapphire crystal and an upgraded movement. The men's sports watch that is for sale here today boasts a style similar to any other Submariner watch with the addition of a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case, a three-link Oyster bracelet secured by an Oysterlock clasp, a dial topped with luminous markers and Mercedes hands, and a unidirectional bezel.
