Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16713 (1997) pairs steel with 18k yellow gold, giving the GMT-Master II a more elevated aesthetic while keeping its roots as a true travel watch. It features a LumiNova dial, marking Rolex’s move away from Tritium in the late 1990s, along with the familiar 24-hour hand and rotating bezel used to track a second time zone. What set the GMT-Master II apart from the original GMT-Master was its independently adjustable local hour hand, made possible by the caliber 3185 inside. This upgrade allowed travelers to change local time without stopping the watch or affecting the 24-hour hand, making it far more practical for frequent travel. The ref 16713 also represents the final era of aluminum bezels and slimmer case proportions, giving it that neo-vintage balance so many collectors are after nowadays.
