Vintage ladies' Rolex Oyster Perpetual 26 ref. 6718 (1979). The 26mm stainless steel Oyster case features a smooth bezel, an acrylic crystal, and a matching three-link Oyster bracelet. The silver dial has applied stick hour markers and matching hands, with small Tritium luminous dots that have developed a subtle, light patina over the decades. What makes this particular example especially interesting is the Sigma dial, identified by the two small Greek sigma symbols flanking the "T SWISS T" designation at 6 o'clock. These symbols were used on certain Rolex dials during the 1970s to indicate that the applied hour markers and hands were made from precious metal, in this case 18k white gold. Inside is a traditional self-winding mechanical movement, keeping with the Oyster Perpetual's longstanding reputation for reliable everyday timekeeping. Between its understated all-steel finish, beautifully aged lume, and collectible Sigma dial, this vintage Oyster Perpetual has a little more history than its simple appearance might suggest.
