This GMT-Master reference 16753 is in overall great vintage condition. The case is in great condition with normal wear. The inside caseback is stamped "16750." The numbers are clearly visible between the lugs. The brown and gold bezel insert is in great condition with light wear. The dial is in great, attractive condition with light patina throughout. The dial has a tiny spot of red coming through next to the nine o'clock marker, this is common for this style dial. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to a lovely pale-yellow color. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The lume in each hand shows some cracking and the GMT hand has a spot missing. This watch has a 62523H 18 bracelet with 18 links and no. 450 end links. The clasp is stamped "H4" indicating it is from 1983. The bracelet is in great condition with normal wear and some of stretch between the links. The crown on the clasp shows signs of a previous polish.
The Rolex 16753 GMT-Master 'Root Beer' is the transitional version of the original two-tone GMT. Rolex equipped this watch with the older style "Nipple dial" decorated with tritium and older style acrylic crystal. At the same time, it also sports an updated high-beat movement with a quickset date, creating a watch with the appeal of a vintage timepiece and a more modern movement. With the popularity of two-tone sport Rolex watches booming, these GMTs offer excellent value. This example is in overall lovely condition and has aged nicely over the years. The dial on this example has almost a burgundy/ wine color adding to the overall character of the watch. Nice vintage Root Beer GMTs are getting harder to find and this is a great chance to pick up a beauty.
