The Oyster Perpetual ref. 1003 was produced sometime in the late 1960's to early 1970's and brings with it the distinct vintage style that avid pre-owned Rolex collectors seek. The case measures a modest 34mm and wears on a stainless steel rivet Oyster bracelet secured by a Fliplock clasp. The case is topped with an engine-turned bezel, an acrylic crystal, and a matching silver dial set with silver indices and hands. Within the case beats a calibre 1560 perpetual movement, which is from Rolex's first series of in-house made movements ever produced by the brand. The calibre 1560 is a 26-jewel chronometer-rated movement with a KIF Flector shock absorbers, a Breguet free sprung hairspring, and 18,800 bph.

I was initially hesitant about ordering my first pre-owned Rolex via Bob's Watches, since I am used to handling and viewing watches in person more often than not before buying. But I'd heard great things about Bob's, so I took a chance. And this watch is gorgeous. It's exactly as described: some light wear on the bracelet and case, but the patina on the dial is absolutely beautiful and the hands and markers are stunning.
