Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual 34 ref 1008 (1963). Rolex produced relatively small quantities of this watch between the 1950s and 1970s, making it an interesting and uncommon collector's item and somewhat of a cult favorite among Rolex enthusiasts. The defining characteristics of this model are the unique quadrant or crosshair dial and textured engine-turned bezel set this Rolex 1008 apart from other Oyster Perpetual watches. It's also distinguished by Alpha-style hands and simple dot hour markers. This example has a silver-colored dial that has aged over the years, it's stunning in person. These watches were initially intended for men but would be great for anyone’s wrist and due to the case size and two-tone nature are perfect for many occasions. It’s worth noting that race car driver and automotive designer, Carroll Shelby, wore one in a Sports Illustrated add he was featured in back in 1959.
