PRE-OWNED WATCH CONDITION EXAMINATION
This Rolex watch is in overall excellent vintage condition. The case is strong with some wear, scratches and nicks. The case appears to have been polished. The lug hole at 11 o'clock shows signs of being polished around the edge, it looks like there was a nick or something taken out in the past. The red-back "Pepsi" bezel is in excellent condition and has been well preserved over the years with some light wear and scratches. The colors are still vibrant. The bezel ring has remained sharp. The matte dial is in overall great condition with very light wear. The lume on the dial and in the hands has all aged to a striking yellow custard color. The hands have developed patina. The jubilee bracelet is in great condition with some wear and scratches, it has a bit of stretch which is common for this type of bracelet.
Rolex GMT-Master 16750
Rolex produced the GMT Master 16750 for about 7 years from 1981 to 1988. During that time, the watch became available with either a glossy or matte dial. The glossy variant had white gold-trimmed indices, while the matte edition did not. The latter matte variant, like this example is more desirable and gives the watch a distinctly vintage look. This reference is considered transitional because Rolex upgraded the movement, it now has a quick-set date, but kept the matte dial and acrylic crystal like the previous reference 1675. Rolex also used open 6s and 9s in the date wheel still which adds to the vintage charm. These matte dial 16750s offer a great blend of vintage and modern and are great to wear.
This example is in overall great condition and has an excellent look from the matte dial to a attractively aged lume. The lume has aged to an even and striking custard yellow color on the dial and in the hands, something we don't see very often. These matte dial transitional GMT's are getting more attention from collectors and are getting harder to find.

The watch was just as described, in fact, better than described online. The transaction was simple, secure, and seamless.
This was my first time working with Bob's and the process could not have been better from my perspective. The watch was a gift for my son who enjoys watches...this will be his 6th Rolex. I didn't participate in the conversations but he had several several questions which the staff fully answered. I entered when it was time to settle up. The customer service was great and the watch arrived very quickly. I'm not the the watch enthusiast in the family, but I see no reason why we wouldn't be looking for # 7 with Bob's as well.
