VINTAGE TROPICAL ROLEX SUBMARINER REF. 6538, INSIDE CASEBACK STAMPED III. 1958
First launched in 1955, reference 6538 is extremely desirable today due to its size, rarity, versatility, and vintage good looks. The model was in fabrication for just four short years, and is characterized by its black lacquer "Swiss"-signed dial, no crown guard case and 8 millimeter crown, hereafter its name "Big Crown Submariner".
This model 6538 will be forever immortalized by the James Bond movie series whereby Sean Connery wears the watch on his secret covert missions. Bond wore the watch on films like Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Goldfinger.
