This Rolex Explorer II is in overall great, attractive vintage condition. The case is in overall great condition with normal signs of wear. The numbers are clearly visible between the lugs. The bezel is in great condition with some normal wear; it’s a later service replacement. The inside caseback is stamped "1655." The dial is in excellent condition and is a later “Swiss only” service replacement. The hands are in excellent condition and are later service replacements. The lume on the dial and in the hands is SuperLuminova and will still glow. This watch has a later, Submariner style, 93150 bracelet with no. 580 end links, 12 links, and divers extension. The bracelet is in overall great condition with normal signs of wear and light stretch between the links.
The Rolex 1655 Explorer is instantly recognizable by its distinctive bright orange 24-hour hand and fixed steel bezel. Introduced in 1971, this model was designed specifically for cave explorers. The bold orange hand serves a functional purpose - helping wearers distinguish between day and night in environments where natural light is absent, such as in dark caves. These all serviced up examples offer a great value and are ideal for daily wearers. This one with the "Swiss only" dial and hands will still glow in the dark because of the SuperLuminova luminous material used.
