This Submariner is in great vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is strong with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped "1680". Serial and reference numbers are clearly visible. The bezel insert is in great condition and is a later service replacement. The dial is in overall great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial and in the hands have developed patina and aged to an attractive pale yellow color. It has a Stainless steel 93150 Oyster with 10 links and 580 endlinks and clasp stamped "A" indicating it is from 1976. The bracelet is in great condition with light stretch between the links; the clasp shows signs of polishing.
Pre Owned Rolex Submariner ref. 1680 (1978) is one of the most sought-after vintage watches on the market. It hails from the legendary Submariner collection, complete with a waterproof case, 60-minute diver's bezel, and self-winding movement. The 1680 also holds a special place in Rolex history as the first Submariner to feature a date mechanism on the dial. Rolex initially made the 1680 with a single line of red text on the dial and would later move to all white text like the example we have here. These "White" 1680's have gained popularity and are a great entry into the world of vintage Rolex.
