Unlike Breitling’s traditional mechanical chronographs, the B50 uses the brand’s advanced SuperQuartz movement, which is thermocompensated for far greater accuracy than a standard quartz watch. It combines classic analog hands with digital displays, giving pilots access to a wide range of flight functions while still looking like a familiar wristwatch. Features like multiple chronograph modes, flight-time tracking, and a perpetual calendar make it a true tool for aviation, continuing Breitling’s long connection to cockpit instruments. Ref. EB501022/BD40 has a substantial 46mm brushed titanium case. The black analog-digital dial pairs traditional hands with dual LCD displays that show a variety of functions, all illuminated by a white backlight for excellent low-light legibility. Inside is Breitling’s SuperQuartz caliber B50 with 1/100th-second chronograph timing, a flyback function, electronic tachymeter, lap timer, and flight-time tracking, along with a digital perpetual calendar and battery state-of-charge indicator.
