By Paul Altieri
Following the success of the original GMT-Master reference 6542 in 1954, Rolex introduced a successor to the reference, the 1675. The reference 1675 stayed in production until the 1980’s and was one of the more prolific models produced by Rolex in the '60s and '70s. With its roots in aviation and the popularity of the GMT function, the interest in this model has never waned. In fact, the current models with the ceramic bezels (particularly the “batman”) are as popular as ever.
This 1981 model has a beautiful, matte black, nipple dial with hands that match the dial completely. Though recently polished, the nice sharp bezels compliment the case and make this a phenomenal timepiece. The bezel insert is a newer replacement but does show signs of light wear. The steel and gold jubilee bracelet comes with 18 links and shows wear comparable to its age. Please feel free to contact Larry with any questions at [email protected]

I really like this beautiful 1675 with fuchsia bezel.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
