Pre-owned IWC Portugieser Automatic 40 ref. IW358313 brings the classic Portugieser aesthetic into a wonderfully wearable 40.4mm package. The collection traces its roots to the late 1930s, when IWC created an unusually large, highly precise wristwatch at the request of Portuguese watch dealers, establishing the clean, almost pocket-watch-inspired design that still defines the collection today. This example pairs a stainless steel case with a particularly attractive salmon-colored dial, slender Arabic numeral hour markers, and elegant feuille-style hands. Small seconds at 6 o’clock keeps the layout beautifully symmetrical and gives the watch a little more visual interest without taking away from its simplicity. Inside is IWC’s manufacture caliber 82200, a self-winding movement equipped with the brand’s Pellaton winding system and approximately 60 hours of power reserve. A convex sapphire crystal and black alligator leather strap complete the classic look.
