This Rolex watch is in vintage condition with surface wear as seen in pictures. The case is in very good condition with scratches and some nicks; the case has been polished.
Vintage Rolex Submariner 1680
It was very common for Rolex to change and update watches when they come in for routine service and that is exactly what happened to this watch. This Submariner is from 1972 so it was born with a "Red Submariner" dial, but was swapped out during a service. The watch now has a "White Submariner" dial with tritium lume that has aged very nicely over the years. Rolex switched from the Red Submariner dials to the all white text in the mid 1970s and from a far one wouldn't realize this watch has a service dial without knowing when it was made. These all serviced up examples offer a great value and are ideal for daily wearers.
The Rolex 1680 is one of the most sought-after vintage watches on the market. It hails from the legendary Submariner collection, complete with a waterproof case, 60-minute diver's bezel, and self-winding movement. The 1680 also holds a special place in Rolex history as the first Submariner to feature a date mechanism on the dial.
