As its name would suggest, the Omega Railmaster was initially developed for railway staff and offered remarkable anti-magnetism. Today, the modern ref. 22.214.171.124.01.001 is equipped with similar resistance to high magnetic fields as well as several upgrades, including a depth rating of up to 150 meters/500 feet, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, an Omega calibre 8806 Co-Axial movement, and an increased resistance of up to 15,000 gauss. As a nod towards the inaugural model from 1957, the dial is topped with Superluminova material in a faux vintage hue that bridges the gap between the older and newer references. The brushed black dial offers a handsome contrast to the stainless steel finish, creating a dramatic yet sophisticated aesthetic.
