Pre-owned Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional ref. 311.30.42.30.01.005 (2020) belongs to the final generation of Moonwatch models powered by the legendary caliber 1861, before Omega introduced the updated caliber 3861 in 2021. The Speedmaster's history with NASA dates back to 1965, when it was officially qualified for manned space missions. It famously accompanied the Apollo 11 astronauts to the Moon in 1969 and went on to participate in all six successful lunar landings. This example features the traditional 42mm stainless steel case with twisted lugs, an asymmetrical profile, and a black aluminum tachymeter bezel. The matte black dial has three recessed registers for running seconds, elapsed minutes, and elapsed hours, along with luminescent hands and hour markers. A Hesalite crystal protects the dial, staying true to the specifications of the original Moonwatch, while a solid caseback features the familiar Seahorse medallion and commemorative engravings. Inside is the manually wound Omega caliber 1861, a direct descendant of the movement used during the Apollo missions, with approximately 48 hours of power reserve.
