This Chronograph is in overall great, attractive vintage condition. The case is in good condition with some scratches and normal signs of wear throughout. The caseback has some scratches and wear around the notches, most likely from someone trying to open it. The inside caseback is stamped "2451.” The crown is a later Omega service replacement. The dial is in great condition with some patina and light marks that can be hard to see. The lume on the dial has developed patina and darkened. The hands and hour markers have developed patina. The lume in the hands has developed patina and darkened; some of the lume in the minutes hand is missing towards the tip. Under higher magnification, the 30-minute totalizer hand for the chronograph has some signs of corrosion, while the other chronograph hands do not show as much. This comes on a green leather strap, but we can change it at the request of the buyer.
Omega produced countless chronographs, and this early-1950s example is especially charming. The dial has aged to a warm beige hue, complemented by a black tachymeter scale and engine-turned sub-dials with radial numerals. Inside is the legendary manual-wind Caliber 321, famously used in early Speedmasters. The movement is stamped "OXG," which was the Omega US import code at the time, indicating this watch was destined for the United States. A great option for anyone looking for a standout vintage Omega chronograph that isn’t a Speedmaster.
