Pre-owned Rolex Datejust 36 ref 16030 (1979) is a great entry point into vintage Rolex. It’s an all-stainless steel model with a slightly more understated aesthetic, but it still has the core DJ36 design that’s made the collection so enduring. Most notable is the engine-turned bezel, a discontinued bezel that many collectors in the know are after. It sits somewhere between a smooth and fluted bezel, giving the watch a bit more texture without being too dressy. This example is paired with a silver dial and Tritium hour markers that have aged into a light, even patina. Worn on a Jubilee bracelet, it’s a comfortable, everyday option with just enough vintage character to keep things interesting.

Lives up to the Rolex name
I have always wanted a Rolex and after my son got one I decided the time was right to pull the trigger. My son took me to the place he bought his previously owned Datejust ll but I didn’t want to spend $8k on a watch. He suggested Bob’s as a place to look for a great used watch at an affordable price. I found the watch I wanted in a vintage Datejust at a great price. I spoke to customer service a few times asking questions and they were extremely helpful. My watch arrived the next day and I couldn’t be more pleased. It is in stunning condition and I love wearing it. I can’t recommend Bobs watches enough. They are a first rate company with excellent customer service and offer you tremendous value for your investment in a Rolex.
