pre-owned Rolex Air-King 5501 - Tiffany & Co.
The Rolex 5501 Air King is an intriguing addition to the Rolex catalog that was developed by Hans Wilsdorf to celebrate the bravery of the pilots of the British Royal Air Force. Wilsdorf sought to create a Rolex Oyster that collectors of all professions could afford, and the Air Series was born. The ref. 5501 for sale here today is a rare and very fine steel and gold Tiffany dial Rolex. The iconic Tiffany & Co logo is presented just above the 6-hour marker, and the Air-King logo is displayed just below the Rolex coronet. Classic yellow gold indices and hands circle the dial, giving this example of the Air-King a very sophisticated and timeless design that begs to be worn.
