By Paul Altieri
The men's Datejust "Turn-o-Graph" was one of the first watches in the Rolex catalog to offer a rotatable timing bezel. Shortly after its release in the 1940s, the US Air Force began issuing the iconic tool watch to the pilots of their Thunderbird aerobatic team, earning it its nickname "Thunderbird". The line has a similar feature set as the Datejust but with a 60-minute rotatable bezel on top of the case, making it the perfect balance between a dress and tool watch. The ref. 1625 is a stunning vintage example that was produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s and features a calibre 1570 Perpetual movement, a desirable black Pie Pan dial, yellow gold markers and hands, and Tritium luminous plots.
Presented here today in very good condition, this is an excellent chance to add a preowned Rolex with immense history to your watch box.

It is just like the one my parents gave me for High School Graduation that was lost in a burglary. It''s good to have it back.
