Pre-owned Rolex Datejust 36 ref 16018 (1977 - 1978) is crafted from 18k yellow gold and paired with a fluted bezel, one of the design elements that has defined the Datejust since the model’s early years. Rather than a metal bracelet, this example is fitted with a leather strap, giving the watch a slightly dressier feel that suits the gold case especially well. The champagne dial is a natural match for the warm tone of the yellow gold, creating the monochromatic look that became a hallmark of many vintage Day-Date and Datejust models from the period. The dial is clean and balanced with simple hour markers, along with the familiar date display at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops magnifier. Inside beats Rolex’s caliber 3035 automatic movement, notable for introducing the Quickset date feature that allows the wearer to adjust the date independently.
