Pre-owned Rolex Datejust OysterQuartz ref 17013 (2000) hails from a fascinating era in Rolex watchmaking when the company was dabbling in quartz movements. Thanks to the Quartz Crises of the 1970s and 1980s that threatened the mechanical watch industry, many of the most notable Swiss watchhouses were forced to add quartz models to their portfolios. The OysterQuartz was Rolex's answer, complete with a thoughtfully developed in-house movement. If this watch looks familiar to you, that is because it takes many of its design cues from the Datejust, featuring an identical dial, a 36mm case, and a fluted bezel.
