The Rolex Thunderbird Datejust played a pivotal role in the evolution of the brand's catalog by being the very first Rolex to offer a rotatable timing bezel. Also known as the "Turn-o-Graph", the 60-minute bezel predates some of the brand's most iconic sports watches, including the Submariner and GMT Master. As the first Rolex to offer a rotatable bezel, the Turn-o-Graph Datejust also became the first military tool watch and was aptly named after the US Air Force aerobatic team in which it was assigned to: the Thunderbirds.
