Pre-owned Rolex Datejust 36 ref. 16263 (1990) puts an interesting spin on the traditional two-tone Datejust with a rotating Turn-O-Graph bezel. The Turn-O-Graph has an important place in Rolex history: introduced in the early 1950s, it was the brand’s first serially produced wristwatch with a rotating bezel, predating the Submariner and GMT-Master. This ref. 16263 pairs a 36mm stainless steel case with yellow gold and a classic two-tone Jubilee bracelet. The ivory Pyramid dial is particularly interesting, featuring a repeating geometric texture reminiscent of a traditional hobnail pattern. Polished gold Roman numerals and matching hands complement the warmer tones of the dial and yellow gold bezel. Unlike a conventional Datejust bezel, the graduated Turn-O-Graph bezel can be rotated to help measure elapsed time. Between the unusual textured dial and historically significant bezel, the ref. 16263 offers collectors something noticeably different from the typical two-tone Datejust.
