The Rolex Thunderbird, aka the Datejust Turn-o-Graph, came to market in 1953 and was the precursor to the impressive line of Rolex sports watches as we know it today. Early models closely resembled the Submariner and then gave way to the much more familiar Datejust variation that is presented here today. The ref. 1625 came to market in the 1960s and utilized a classic Datejust feature set in the form of a 36mm waterproof Oyster case, a five-piece link Jubilee bracelet secured by a Fliplock clasp, and a date aperture at the 3-hour marker. The case was topped with a distinctive "Turn-o-Graph" bezel, which was developed for use while flying. It wasn't until the US Air Force picked up a previous model as the official watch of their aerobatics team the Thunderbirds that the model began to go by the same name. The stainless steel preowned Rolex that is listed for sale here today is an excellent option to consider if you wish to add this fascinating timepiece to your collection as it maintains an attractive entry-level price and a desirable vintage aesthetic.

It is just like the one my parents gave me for High School Graduation that was lost in a burglary. It''s good to have it back.
