The understated three-hand silver dial, protected by an acrylic crystal, is accented by tapered hour markers with tritium lume, a mid-1960s update that lends a warm, vintage patina over time. Powered by an automatic movement and produced continuously until 1989, the 5500 is widely regarded as the quintessential vintage Air-King, embodying Rolex’s commitment to reliable timekeeping and timeless design across generations.
