When one thinks of gold Rolex watches, the Day-Date is often the first watch that comes to mind. The ultimate status symbol, the Day-Date is always presented in a precious metal finish and often features a sharp fluted bezel and iconic President bracelet with semi-circular links and a hidden Crownclasp. The ref. 228238 is the newest variation of the line that came to market in 2015. Its feature set includes a very desirable 40mm Oyster case as well as a satin and polished 18 karat yellow gold finish, a matching champagne dial topped with faceted Roman hour markers in gold, and a calibre 3255 Perpetual movement. The calibre 3255 is a newer movement that takes advantage of modern watchmaking technologies and includes high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, accuracy of -2/+2 seconds per day, and an impressive 70-hour power reserve.
