Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date 40 President ref 228238 (2018) came to market during Basel World 2015. Although it is larger than the traditional 36mm model, ref. 228238 was not the first Day-Date to sport a bigger case. The 41mm option came to market in 2008 and has since been discontinued, making way for the 40mm ref. 228238 that you see here today. Gold Rolex watches are coveted by many people around the world, and the "President's Watch" Day-Date is the most sought-after option. The ref. 228238 equips the larger case with a newer Caliber 3255 Perpetual movement, complete with high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, accuracy of -2/+2 seconds per day, and a 70-hour power reserve. The smooth movement allows the hands to sweep effortlessly around the dial for an accurate reading during almost any activity.
The Day-Date also utilizes a process that involves screwing the case back, bezel, and Twinlock screw-down crown into the Monobloc middle case for waterproofness up to 330 feet. What makes this preowned Rolex even more exceptional is the display, which presents the time via sharp index and Roman numeral hour markers, creating a contemporary yet classic aesthetic.
