The gold Rolex Presidential has been a staple of the brand's vast portfolio since the 1950s, distinguished by a waterproof Oyster case surrounded by a fluted bezel, a dial with two calendar displays, and a President bracelet with rounded, three-piece links. The collection has evolved to include different dial colors, improved movements, and even larger case sizes. Ref. 228238 is just one example. It hails from the contemporary Day-Date 40 collection, featuring a larger case than the original 36mm model from the 1950s. Furthermore, it relies on the next-generation caliber 3255 with a Double Quickset and a longer power reserve. The example you see here also features a champagne dial to match the yellow-gold finish, longer-lasting Chromalight, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
