Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date 40 ref. 228238 (2022). Introduced in 2015 as the successor to the larger Day-Date II, the Day-Date 40 scaled the collection back from 41mm to a more balanced 40mm case with slimmer, more traditional proportions. This example is made entirely from 18k yellow gold, including the famous fluted bezel and President bracelet. Developed specifically for the Day-Date in 1956, the President bracelet features rounded three-piece links and is exclusive to Rolex watches crafted from precious metals. The black dial gives all that yellow gold a sharp contrast, with simple baton hour markers and hands filled with blue-glowing Chromalight. As always, the day is spelled out in full at 12 o’clock, while the date and Cyclops lens sit at 3. Inside is the caliber 3255, a next-generation movement featuring a Chronergy escapement and about 70 hours of power reserve.
