Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date 40 ref 228238 (2020) is the classic gold Rolex Presidential, but sized up for the modern wrist. For decades, the largest size available to the Day-Date was 36mm. A 41mm series briefly graced the Rolex portfolio before the brand settled on the perfectly refined Day-Date 40. Today, collectors have their choice of many different metal finishes and dial colors. Ref. 228238 keeps it classic in polished and brushed yellow gold. It displays the time on an elegant silver sunray dial via the newer Roman numeral configuration, which alternates numerals with stick hour markers for a clean, symmetrical aesthetic. All the other hallmarks of a classic Rolex Presidential are here, including the exclusive President bracelet with rounded three-piece links and the dual calendar displays on the dial. The ultimate state symbol.
