This vintage "Rootbeer" GMT-Master is in overall honest, attractive vintage condition. The case is in honest condition with scratches and nicks throughout. The upper crown guard has an indentation that can be noticed from the back/side, hard to notice straight on. The inside caseback is stamped "1675." The numbers between the lugs are visible and the text has some light scratching from the end links. The bezel is in good, honest condition with normal signs of wear and some scratches; it has faded throughout. There is a minor chip on the inner edge of the bezel at 4 o'clock. The dial is in great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and is an even pale-yellow color. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The lume in the hands has developed patina and are close to the color of the lume on the dial. The two-tone Jubilee bracelet has 20 links and no. 450 end links. Back of clasp is stamped 'N 9' indicating it's from 1989. The bracelet is in overall great condition with normal signs of wear and some stretch between the links which is common for this style bracelet.
The reference 1675 is the second iteration of the original GMT Master and was offered in multiple variations. A handful of metal options were produced under ref. 1675, including the steel and gold like the example we have here. It pairs the two-tone finish with a beautiful brown dial with brown and gold bezel. However, what really sets this watch apart from other vintage Rolexes on the market are the charming yellow gold nipple hour markers and overall “Root Beer” motif.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
