Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual 6285
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual was introduced in the 1950s and is most notable for its use of a simple, time-only dial and modest waterproof Oyster case. Timeless and sophisticated, this model is often the watch of choice among entry-level preowned Rolex collectors. The ref. 6285 that is presented here today is a fine example of the Oyster Perpetual that boasts a very desirable vintage feature set. The 34mm Oyster case is presented in yellow gold and wears on a complementary leather strap bracelet. A thicker acrylic crystal protects the dial against moderate wear and the screw-down crown, which was initially waterproof up to 100 meters, has allowed the movement to remain in working condition decades after coming to market. This particular ref. 6285 also features a gorgeous light champagne dial, which is topped with yellow gold stick hour markers, a Rolex logo at 12 o'clock, dauphine hour and minute hands, and sweeping center seconds.
