Referred to as the Turn-o-Graph bezel, this feature allows the wearer to accurately measure increments of time. The Thunderbird Datejust was originally created for the pilots of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, hence its intriguing nickname. In order to withstand the rigors of flight, Rolex equipped the Thunderbird with a sturdy 36mm Oyster case. A process of hermetically sealing the case with a screw-down case back and a screw-down crown protects the calibre 3035 perpetual movement within from depths of up to 330 feet as well as higher altitudes. The men's reference 16263 that is offered here today was released in the early 2000's and brings with it a handsome style featuring a two-tone steel and gold Oyster bracelet, a matching 18 karat yellow gold bezel, and a sharp black dial set with yellow gold indices and sweeping hands.
