By Paul Altieri,
The Rolex GMT Master 1675, few watches conjure up as much desire, memories and collectability as this timeless piece. Countless stories start with “My father wore this watch when” or “My GMT was on my wrist when” and they always turn out to be fantastic stories. Conceived for aviation but durable enough to handle everything from day-to-day life to extreme combat, The 1675 GMT has earned it place in history as one of the most sought after watches in the market for good reason.
This specific timepiece from 1979 has a beautiful matte black dial in great shape with nipple hour markers giving this dial a wonderful and unique look. The hands have been previously replaced at a service but still look great compared with the dial markers. The stainless steel case has been lightly polished previously and shows off the original lug bevels beautifully. The black bezel insert was replaced at a service at some point but has aged and shows signs of wear. The bracelet is a stainless steel and 14k gold jubilee model that was manufactured in the United States. It does show signs of age and stretch. Being rugged and durable makes this watch a fantastic watch to wear every day, being full of history and tradition make this watch a fantastic to collect. You decide which is the best for you. Well represented watch in excellent condition. Super fast shipping. My second purchase from Bobs but not my last. Their watches seem to be in better condition than many of the others I’ve seen online.
The whole transaction process with Bob's is always top notch. The vintage watch was functioning as expected, the case is relatively strong with minimal polishing, and the dial is a beautiful service dial as expected.
I really like this beautiful 1675 with fuchsia bezel.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
