This GMT-Master is in great, attractive vintage condition with normal signs of wear. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The numbers are clearly visible between the lugs. The inside caseback is stamped "1675" and "II.67". The red-back "fat font" bezel is in overall good, honest condition with wear and scratches; it shoes fading throughout. The dial is in good, attractive condition with some patina and wear around the edge. Some of the lume plots on the dial have developed patina and show signs of degradation (some of this may have been from previous hand-drag). Some of the plots have developed a bit of darker patina. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands has been color corrected/ relumed to match the lume on the dial. This watch has a rivet Oyster C&I USA bracelet with 10 links. The clasp is stamped “7 / 67”. The bracelet is in overall good condition with some wear and stretch between the links which is not uncommon for this style bracelet.
The GMT Master is Rolex's signature pilots watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It's one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because of its instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. Rolex initially used glossy dials in the 1675 until around 1966 and switched to matte dials.
This circa 1967 "Pepsi" GMT has a Mark I matte dial and collectors refer to this dial variation as a Mark I "Long E." When looking at the "Rolex" text on the dial the "E" has a longer central bar (same length as the top and bottom ones) and that is where this nickname comes from. This example also falls on the earlier side of production for the Mark 1 matte dial and features a small GMT hand. The movement on this watch is stamped “ROW” (US import code at the time) indicating it was destined for the US market. The watch comes on a Rolex C&I USA bracelet with makes sense since the watch was destined for the USA and the guarantee says it was sold at Howard Brothers in Louisiana - we love it when these little details line up!
This example comes directly from the family of the original owner and has retained its box and papers. When examining the papers closely, we can see that the punched Chronometer papers have the correct case number ending in an 8. The guarantee papers actually have the hand-written serial number incorrect, it ends in a 9. We have seen this many times where the original dealer made a mistake with filling in the details. Luckily, the punched number is correct. We also confirmed that the chronometer papers have a corresponding movement number to the watch.
Great and easy transaction. Very professional and communicative. For sure a solid experience.
Great watch and very good help from Sam Berger who catered to my concerns.

Well represented watch in excellent condition. Super fast shipping. My second purchase from Bobs but not my last. Their watches seem to be in better condition than many of the others I’ve seen online.
The whole transaction process with Bob's is always top notch. The vintage watch was functioning as expected, the case is relatively strong with minimal polishing, and the dial is a beautiful service dial as expected.
I really like this beautiful 1675 with fuchsia bezel.
Quick e-mail responses, systematic
I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
