This vintage Chronometer 4448 is in overall great vintage condition. The case is in great condition with some scratches and light dents from wear. The caseback etching of the Rolex coronet and serial is faint but still visible. The thin lugs are still in great condition and do not show much wear. The Helvetia marking on the bottom right lug is also still visible but shows signs of previous polishing. The silver dial has developed a fine dark speckling that is visible throughout the surface. The leaf-esq hour and minutes hands show signs of slight patina and the blued seconds hand shows some patina mainly on its central hub. This is fitted with an 18mm strap with gold matching hardware.
The Chronometer reference 4448 is a nice dress watch Rolex made during the 19th century, complete with an expansive dial and engine-turned bezel. This watch came to market in the late 1940s with other similar references being released around the same time and into the 1950s. It's a nice post-war example of Rolex's non-sports esthetic that predate the Cellini line. Just two decades shy of being a century old, references like these have been harder to find in nice working order.
