This Oyster Perpetual ref. 5030 circa 1948 is in good, attractive vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped “5030.” The numbers between the lugs are clearly visible. The hallmark on the back of the five o’clock lug is clearly visible. The watch has retained it's correct "ROLEX+OYSTER" crown. This watch also has retained its roulette date wheel. The dial has developed patina throughout. The lume plots have developed patina. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The hands have been relumed.
Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref 5030 Circa 1948 is a fascinating watch because it sports the famous calendar display at 3 o'clock but is not distinguished by the "Datejust" name. These measure in at 36mm and offer a great value for a solid gold Rolex of this vintage. The watch has some note worthy features like the roulette wheel date where the even numbers are in red text and odd are black, it also sports a "short" Rolex crown on the dial adding to the character of this watch. We love how the once white dial has aged with a lovely patina giving it a beige look.
