Pre-owned Rolex Datejust OysterQuartz ref 17013 (1976) differs from other Rolex dress watches in several ways. First, and most obviously, it sports an integrated bracelet and more angular lugs. Furthermore, the watch is powered by a quartz movement instead of Rolex's signature self-winding "Perpetual" mechanical movement. These watches were a product of the "Quartz Crises," which saw an uptick in popularity for more affordable, quartz-powered wristwatches. Many of the market's most renowned Swiss brands started producing quartz watches to survive. The result was the Rolex OysterQuartz, which still featured a Rolex-made movement and the distinctive waterproof Oyster case. Furthermore, this model is a Datejust with the famous time-and-date dial configuration and Rolex's signature fluted bezel.
