Vintage Rolex Datejust 36 ref. 1603 (1966) features an all-steel design and several details that distinguish it from newer generations. One of the most notable is the engine-turned bezel, a discontinued Rolex design featuring finely machined grooves that give the watch a slightly different aesthetic than the traditional fluted bezel. The silver pie-pan dial is another desirable vintage feature, named for its sloping outer edge that creates a subtle sense of depth. This style was eventually phased out as Rolex transitioned to flatter dial designs. An acrylic crystal adds to the watch's vintage character, while the traditional 36mm Oyster case maintains the proportions that have made the Datejust so popular for decades.
