Vintage Rolex Datejust 1603 - Deepwell Service Dial
It isn't uncommon to find watches on the pre-owned Rolex market with a different company's logo emblazoned somewhere on the dial. These unique timepieces were commissioned by the individual companies as gifts for their employees and are highly sought-after collector's items for the intriguing story that often accompanies them. The vintage Datejust ref. 1603 that is presented here today features a stainless steel finish as well as a striking engine-turned bezel, a five-piece link Jubilee bracelet with fold-over links, and a silver dial topped with the Deepwell Service company logo. The dial itself is a Pie-Pan variant that is common among vintage Rolex watches and sits beneath a thicker acrylic crystal. Within the waterproof case beats a calibre 1570 movement, complete with a date complication and 19,800 bph.
