Pre-owned Rolex Datejust ref. 16263 (1995) is also often called the "Rolex Thunderbird" or "Rolex Turn-o-Graph" due to its association with the Thunderbirds aerobatic team and its rotatable bezel. Interestingly, this variation of the Datejust was among the first Rolexes to feature a rotatable bezel, predating the Submariner and other Rolex tool watches from this era. The bezel gave the DJ36 a more functional, almost sporty personality, while still keeping all the familiar DJ DNA intact, such as the date window at 3 o'clock and the classic proportions that have made the watch an icon. The example you see here is cased in versatile steel and yellow gold and features a very striking black tapestry dial with applied yellow gold indices and matching sweeping hands.
