Pre-owned Rolex Datejust ref 16253 (1961) is called the Rolex Thunderbird, or the Rolex Turn-o-graph, after its unique bezel design. While it isn’t unusual now to see Rolexes with rotatable bezels, they weren't as commonplace when the Turn-o-Graph came to market in the 1950s. In fact, the watch was among the first in the Rolex portfolio to sport a rotatable bezel. Pair the bezel with the classic Datejust 36 design blueprint, and you have all the makings of a unique collector's item. Ref. 16253 is a two-tone model with a yellow gold timing bezel, a steel and gold Jubilee bracelet, and a blue dial decorated with yellow gold hour markers and hands. As with every DJ, the case is rated waterproof up to 100 meters and houses a self-winding mechanical movement with an automatically changing date display.
